2010 NFL Award Predictions

Coach of the Year: Sean Payton, New Orleans Saints

The reigning Super Bowl Champions have another great year, winning the NFC South and advancing to the playoffs for the second straight year. Payton finished second in the voting for Coach of the Year last year. This year he takes home the reward, in part for his performance in ’09.

Offensive Player of the Year: Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

The Packers QB somehow improves upon a 2009 season in which he threw for 4,434 yds, 30 TDs, and a 103.2 QB Rating. Rodgers leads Green Bay to the division title and establishes himself as legitimate top five NFL quarterback.

Defensive Player of the Year: Darelle Revis, New York Jets

Revis ends a lengthy holdout before the start of the season and is ready for game one. He plays in all 16 games, leading one of the best defenses in the NFL. Quarterbacks avoid throwing his way throughout the season, but Revis still has 5 interceptions, returning one for a TD.

Most Valuable Player: Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts

Peyton won his record 4th MVP last year (4,500 yds, 33 TDs) and this year he’ll win his 5th. He leads the Colts deep into the playoffs, maybe even to the Super Bowl.

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Sam Bradford, St. Louis Rams

Bradford has an impressive rookie season, throws for 20 TDs and even leads the Rams to a few victories. He receives 40 of 50 votes for the award, with CJ Spiller and Dez Bryant splitting the other 10 votes.

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Eric Berry, Kansas City Chiefs

The first round pick out of Tennessee is a standout player on a team that doesn’t have much success this year. Berry leads all rookies in tackles and interceptions from his Safety position and proves he was worthy of #5 overall draft pick.

Comeback Player of the Year: Troy Polamalu, Pittsburgh Steelers

Steeler Strong Safety Troy Polamalu returns to the field after playing in just 5 games in 2009. He quickly reestablishes himself as one of the premier defensive players in the league, making 50 tackles and intercepting 4 passes.
